My passion for landscape painting was born of need to create from time to time something quick and easy, unlike the thought-out pictures, where I work also with topics and more complex compositions. I found that I really enjoy landscape painting, and over time a number of such paintings have been created. Where I travel and walk, I always look around for some beautiful scenes in the countryside, especially in the woods. These then become inspirations for the painting, after I have somewhat forgotten what it really looks like out there, and instead unleash my imagination to let fantasy play with colours. Sometimes what manifests are wildly colored landscapes, which I call “psychedelic“ while at other times what comes out are calm and meditative scenes. With some exceptions, they are usually smaller in format than other images, and what I like best is to lock myself in a studio with them for a few days and complete them before the first brush strokes get dried. Recently I have become inspired mostly with landscapes in my native Czechia, where I live at the moment, but I started landscape painting in Andalusia, Spain, where I spent several years of my life. I also look for inspiration when travelling, so in my landscape pictures there are hints of places from different parts of the world.
